Built for the Camera—and Bigger Than One Storyline

Safaree Lloyd Samuels has spent more than two decades inside music and entertainment, evolving from the early New York group Hoodstars into a solo artist, television personality, entrepreneur and father with a global social audience.

Born in Brooklyn to Jamaican parents and raised in Canarsie, Safaree’s identity has always mixed New York confidence with Caribbean energy. That combination became central to the humor, fashion, performance and directness that audiences recognize instantly.

Safaree’s advantage is not simply visibility. It is his willingness to keep showing up as the story changes—and to make every chapter feel unmistakably his.

Music Before Reality Television

His entertainment career began in the early 2000s with Hoodstars. After that chapter ended, he continued working in music before releasing solo mixtapes including It Is What It Is, Real Yard Vibes and Fur Coat Vol. 1. His debut studio album, Straitt, arrived in 2020.

The records reflected the same mix that drives his public persona: New York rap instincts, Jamaican influence, humor and unapologetic confidence.

A Love & Hip Hop Record Nobody Else Holds

Safaree joined Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood in 2016 and later appeared across the New York, Atlanta and Miami editions. That made him the only cast member to participate in all four primary franchises.

Those appearances transformed him from a music-industry figure into a personality audiences followed across relationships, business moves, fatherhood and personal reinvention.

Winning House of Villains

In 2024, Safaree joined the second season of E!’s House of Villains. His unpredictable but authentic approach carried him through the competition, where he ultimately won the season and the $200,000 prize.

The victory reinforced what viewers already understood: in a room full of calculated personalities, Safaree’s ability to stay entertaining and unmistakably himself is a strategy of its own.
