Cyndi Lauper Joins Tones and I and CYRIL for a New ‘Time After Time’

“Time After Time” is back in a new form. Cyndi Lauper, Australian singer Tones and I, and producer CYRIL released a dance-oriented interpretation of the classic song on October 23, 2026, through Spinnin’ Records.

The label’s official release page names all three artists and confirms the date. Music services list a single of about two minutes and forty seconds, separating the new recording from the 1980s original rather than treating it as the same master.

A classic enters a different setting

Lauper co-wrote “Time After Time” with Rob Hyman, and the song became one of the defining records of her career. The newly credited version places her name alongside two artists associated with a more contemporary dance-pop audience.

CYRIL previously attracted international attention through his reworking of “Stumblin’ In,” while Tones and I is known for her distinct vocal delivery and global pop hits. This release connects generations and styles; whether it will create another chart moment is still an open question.

The original song’s emotional appeal came in part from its restrained presentation. A dance reinterpretation changes the surrounding sound and likely the setting in which listeners encounter it, from slow ballad playlists to club and party collections.

An official release, not an unofficial edit

Unlike an online mashup uploaded without authorization, this is a formally released recording credited by its label. That matters for the artists’ attribution and for listeners who want the correct version.

The new track was available on major services on release day. This report does not assume the recording’s chart rank or discuss unconfirmed behind-the-scenes sessions.
