The answer is 30.
This is yesterday’s triangle puzzle’s big sister — same trick, one more ray. Here’s how to count them so you can check us. Every triangle in this picture has its point at the very top.
- There are 5 lines running from the top point down to the base. Any 2 of them form the sides of a triangle — that’s 10 combinations (4 narrow, 3 medium, 2 wide, 1 full-width).
- There are 3 levels where a triangle can end: the 2 lines across the middle, plus the base itself.
- 10 combinations × 3 levels = 30 triangles.
If you said 20, you counted 2 levels and missed the set that ends at the very first line across. If you said 10, you only counted the triangles that reach the base. Drop your number in the comments — and if you nailed 30, you’re officially warmed up for tomorrow’s puzzle on our page.
