Spot the Difference: Sunday at Church — All 6 Differences, Listed

There are exactly 6 differences — no more, no less.

The two pictures look identical at a glance: the altar, the candle stand, the stained-glass window, the pews, the choir, and the piano. But the second picture changed exactly six things. Here they are, one by one:

  • The candle stand: 6 candles in the first picture, 5 candles in the second.
  • The steeple cross through the window: present in the first picture, absent in the second — look through the glass, not at it.
  • The center stained-glass pane: blue in the first picture → red in the second.
  • The front pew: a hymnal rests on it in the first picture, absent in the second.
  • One choir member’s sash: gold in the first picture → purple in the second.
  • The vase on the piano: 5 roses in the first picture, 4 roses in the second.

That’s the full list: candles, cross, pane, hymnal, sash, and roses. If your list has a seventh difference, look again — it’s the same in both pictures, and it’s designed to make you doubt yourself. The hardest two for most people are the steeple cross (your eye reads the window as one picture and never checks what’s behind it) and the single missing rose.
