The answer is 26 stars.
Don’t try to take the whole sky in at once — count it row by row, top to bottom, the way it’s built:
- Row 1: 5 stars
- Row 2: 7 stars
- Row 3: 6 stars
- Row 4: 8 stars
Now add them up: 5 + 7 + 6 + 8 = 26.
Here’s the checklist that makes it provable: stars appear ONLY in those four rows. Every star is complete and fully visible — no halves hiding at the edges, no stars tucked into the background pattern, and nothing formed by the spaces between stars counts. The uneven rows are the trap, as always: your eye wants four tidy rows of the same count and will happily round this picture to 24 or 28. The rows are NOT the same — 5, 7, 6, 8 — and counting them one at a time is the only way the argument ends. Count the two row types separately… in this case, count all four separately, because no two middle rows match either.
Did you land on 26, or did the uneven rows pull you to a rounder number? Be honest in the comments — and watch our page for tomorrow’s counting game.
