The answer is a bottle.
Here’s the riddle: “I have a neck but no head, and I wear a cap. What am I?”
Work it through, because this riddle hides an everyday object inside body language. Start with the first clue: “a neck but no head.” Picture a bottle. The long, narrow part at the top is literally called the neck — ask any winemaker, brewer or soda bottler. But where a body would put a head on top of that neck, a bottle has… nothing. Just an opening. A neck with no head at all.
Now the second clue: “and I wear a cap.” What sits on top of that neck? A cap — that’s the actual word for it. Bottle cap. It isn’t a hat the bottle chose; it’s the lid screwed or crimped onto the neck, and every bottle you’ve ever opened was “wearing” one until you twisted it off.
That’s why nothing else fits both halves. A guitar has a neck and a head — disqualified by clue one. A shirt has a neck hole but wears no cap. Only a bottle has a neck, no head, AND a cap it wears every day of its life — which is why, once you see it, you can’t unsee it. The answer was sitting in your kitchen the whole time.
