Recording studio equipment; not Lennon Stella's session

Lennon Stella Returns With ‘Sleeping Lion’ After Six Years Between Albums

Critical Content | Reported October 24, 2026

Singer-songwriter and actor Lennon Stella released Sleeping Lion on October 23, 2026, ending a six-year gap between full-length records. Her previous studio album, Three. Two. One., arrived in 2020; the new 12-song project was issued through RECORDS.

In an interview published by ELLE ahead of the release, Stella described time away from the usual pressures of the music business. The gap was an opportunity to reconnect with friends, a more ordinary routine, and the musical instincts that had drawn her toward songwriting before outside expectations became such a strong influence.

From a break to a new sound

The album takes a more intimate direction than glossy pop production. ELLE describes folk influences and a stripped-back approach, with Stella citing artists including Nick Drake and Connie Converse. Andy Shauf also worked on the record. Those are descriptions of the creative approach, not a claim that every song belongs to one narrow genre.

Early songs include “Comedy Show” and “Unforgivable Things.” A separate October 23 release announcement identified a visualizer for “Smartest Person in the Room,” directed by Stella and Adam Alonzo.

The tracks and live plans

Stella’s audience knows her from multiple chapters, including early YouTube videos with her sister Maisy and the television drama Nashville. The new project does not erase those beginnings; it places her current work under her own name with a clearer emphasis on the writing.

An intimate series of Up Close & Personal shows was announced for Nashville, New York, Toronto and Los Angeles, alongside a scheduled Grand Ole Opry appearance on October 25. Concert dates and ticket availability should be confirmed with official venues.

The clear news is the released album and Stella’s explanation of its creative reset. This report does not invent early chart rankings, streaming totals or audience reviews before such measures become available.
