There are exactly 7 differences — no more, no less.
The two pictures look identical at a glance: the teacher’s desk with its apples, the globe, the bookshelf, the alphabet banner, the wall clock, the backpack by the door, and the world map. But the second picture changed exactly seven things. Here they are, one by one:
- The apples on the teacher’s desk: 2 in the first picture, only 1 in the second.
- The globe: sitting on the teacher’s desk in the first picture, moved onto the bookshelf in the second.
- The alphabet banner: the complete A–Z in the first picture — in the second, the letter M is missing.
- The books on the shelf: 8 in the first picture, 6 in the second.
- The wall clock: it reads 9:00 in the first picture and 10:30 in the second.
- The backpack by the door: red in the first picture → blue in the second.
- The world map on the wall: present in the first picture, missing in the second.

If your list has an eighth difference, look again — it’s the same in both pictures, and it’s there to make you doubt the seven real ones. The hardest two for most people are the missing M (your brain reads the banner as “alphabet” and never checks a single letter) and the globe, because it looks perfectly at home in both of its spots.
